I would stop where you are at right now.
Do you know anything about the GE engine and internals?

Your best bet is to buy a complete turbo kit.

I guess fuel injectors and internal work depend on how much power you want. Injectors will limit you first. Then anything over 8psi and you should do a thicker headgasket or internals. Or a GTE shortblock.

Please go here and SEARCH through all of the stickies and information.

If you keep it at about 5psi you could probably do it for a while. But what are you going to to about tuning?

Have you driven a turbo car before? It's addicting, you'll want to turn up the boost as soon as you can. And that is when you will blow your motor.

Don't use being in school as an excuse. I am. Most of the guys on my.is are. Do you want to blow your money on turboing your car, then get it running, blow your motor, and not have a ride to school? And THEN have to do it all over again?

All I'm saying is do a little more research. It will pay off in the long run.

when it comes to the motor
its better to save up the money and do it right the first time

i tell you right now, i miss the rush of a boosted car
from my 400hp S14 to my stock ER32 Skyline and 180sx
the rush you get from that turbo spooling is addicting.
I've been wanting to build my project motor but financing is difficult.
i won't do it unless its done right.
i'll wait patiently......hopefully i can bring this car back to japan
where my homeboiz can hook me up
can you say high rev twinturbo 2JZ

since you're not sure of your budget
it might be a good idea to
start preppin the chassis for the power you will soon have
its pointless to have power if the car can't handle it
try to upgrade the brakes, suspension, and drivetrain in preparation for the turbo
on a tight budget....those parts are fairly easy to get

RCPnoi couldn't have said it better.
turbo cars are a lot of fun but should always be expensive.
first, don't rush it. if you do it, could cost you a lot more down the road.
second, do everything besides the turbo first. its not a good idea to have a very fast car on brakes that can't stop it so do the brakes, suspension, and all the other stuff first.
third, do it right. don't go cheap. buy good quality stuff. some will disagree with me but i would stay off ebay.
last, try doing the whole turbo together. esp. with turbo last thing you want is for you to have to rebuild the motor for something small like a gasket of injectors. plan big and you can always drive small if you want.

sorry if i am being degrading, you are probably a smart person, just hope for the best. make sure to post pics.
