Seriously.....are you really asking this question. If you have been wanting to buy an IS and you finally have the chance.....why back out of it? Just because what your friends are saying? If you really want one...then get it and save up for boost! Don't rely on what your buddies want you to do....do what you want!

GL with decision....and post pics when you buy your IS!

Man Up and buy the IS, it's your money and your life. I've never listened to my friends about a car purchase, they never offered to help pay for it !!

also, you ARE on a website specifically for lexus owners and really the only people that get on here are hardcore lexus enthusiasts so what did you think we would pick?

it depends what your set up would be, its hard to really put a price range unless we know what you have in mind

boosting an IS is def more expensive that boosting an S-14

what's more important to you?

it will take more time and money but boosting the IS is a possibilty

i had an S-14 in japan and now i bought my IS cuz frankly
the cost of the S-14 in the states are overpriced

If it's a tough choice, you might not need to consider it in the first place. People who own an IS love their IS, it's unique and unlike anything else out there. It's expensive as hell to work on and modify, but we do it because we love them. If you just want a bottle rocket strapped to a chassis, look elsewhere.

I don't think you should get either one, If you want to rep lexus, and want boost, get a SC300 that has a turbo or 1JZ swap already, you can find them for under $10k, there were two in Florida on ebay recently.

See the problem here is that we cannot make a decision for THEM. You need to buy your car and spend your money for YOU.

Secondly you should know the IS needs to be auto for boost. You'll tear the 5 speed into pieces in a week.
