2001 A/c problem please help!
Well first of all I would like to say hi to everyone on the forum, first time owning a lexus.
Anyways I just recently purchased my 2001 is300. And it seems to have a problem with the ac. It blows fine, but it only blows cold once in a while? I put freon in the car the other day and it still seems to have the problem. Maybe the ac module is messed up and not readimng the temperature gauge right? I'm clueless. And I'm sure some of the is300 owners here may have ran into the same problem? Just thought id ask before I take it anywhere to get looked it.

well first off, welcome to the forum and congrats on your first lexus, im on my second and believe me when i say, you wont want to drive anything else, anyway
i have not had the issue you are talking about but theres two things i would check if i were you
1. air mix servos
2. see if the the ac clutch is actually engaging
do you ever hear these wierd clicking noises (almost sounds like a cd changer) coming from inside the dash? if so its probably your air mix servos in which case you can find some info on here to go about cleaning them (there was a thread on here like a week or two ago about that very same thing)
if the ac clutch is not engaging, i dont know hardly anything about that so hopefully one of the other guys will chime in to help with that
