Plasma Booster made by Ignition Solutions
Link to the product
Would you rather see ClubLexus dyno the product on a manual or auto IS300?
The product costs $266 I believe and I will try to convince them to sell it to the test person at a cheaper rate.
We will be doing 6 pulls.
3 pulls - Stock
3 pulls - W/ Plasma Booster
The dyno will be done at SP-Engineering.
We are looking at next week to do this. So anyone wanna volunteer? It is truely a painless procedure.
PM me if you are interested.

Hey guys. What kind of plasma system do IS300 owners get?
Is it the direct one or booster one? I've been talking with Igntion Solutions and their guestimate on price of production for G35 seems much higher (going plasma direct way... they couldn't figure out the booster way easily is my guess). I think it is about 3 times up from which you guys will have to pay. (Heard BMWs have similar setup with prices from them as well)
Any idea on original pricing of booster before group buy so I will have rough cut at what G35 group can try to negotiate one for?
Thanks in advance. (Oh, and have you been talking with Noel or Steve?)

I've been talking to Noel. The PB for IS300/SC300 costs $266? Or something like that.
What I understand, a PB will cost $1,500-$1,700 for a GS. It has something to do with number of coils and each one costs $75? It is something like that.
I will be trying to get ahold of them today and arrrange the dyno early next week.
Update: Confirming date and place on Monday morning. Most likely, it will be at SP-Engineering.

Man, I gotta cancel this dyno too.
Ignition Solutions and I intially got off to a good start.
However, now I can't even get a hold of the contact person. After 2 voice messages, one email and waiting one week, I've given up. The ball is on their court.
Sorry ClubLexus
UPDATE: Well, things are moving again. After writing a disappointing email to them, they responded back within 30 minutes to get something done. This event will be cohosted by SpeedOptions.
Stay tuned.

I eagerly awaiting a dyno test, but I'll be really surprised if the company follows through.
Why? Because I can't see any way this gadget reallyl increases HP. I don't doubt for a second that all their 'scope traces are accurate, and that it really does increase the spark duration, etc.
But for this to make any difference in HP, it must provide for more complete burning of the air-fuel mixture than does the stock ignition. That implies that with the stock ignition the engine isn't completely burning all the air-fuel charge in the cylinder. And while this is probably true during cold starts, it can't be true much of the time, or passing EPA standards would be near impossible.
I don't see any claims of HP increases anywhere on their web site, which is probably deliberate, and very smart from a legal perspective.
I'm such a pessimist <g>.
