Default IS300 question: To buy or not to buy

Hi,

I'm new to this forum. My friend is selling his 02 IS300 White/Black. He is selling his car for $13000 Canadian. The car has 82,500 kms, no accidents. However, the car has no sunroof, leather, or fog lights. Is this a good deal? I am thinking about getting it. I'm not sure how much they go for, can you guys let me know if it's a good deal. Thanks in advance.

Welcome, sounds like a good deal, if you can live without sunroof and leather, you will have a lighter car then most IS300's. The fog lights were probably ripped out, and it is easy to put new ones in, I am pretty sure all IS300's came with fog lights.

I can live without the leather, sunroof and fog lights. I'm more concern if it's a good deal. Is the price below market value, fair or overpriced. Remember it's in kilometres and in Canadian price. Thanks.

if my computer is right then its a lil of $12k for a car with a lil over 51k miles. pretty good but i think you could do better. even though 50k in 8 years is barely driving the car

Low mileage....one owner...excellent condition. This is the place where I got my Sportx from. Let me know if your interested...I can PM you the link.

i didnt even think any lexus came without sunroof, wierd, well heres my thoughts, if its a fair price and you are handy with fixin stuff go for it, the is 300 is a pain to do anything on but theres a lot of info and parts out the for it, its the same engine as the toyota supra so its not like this is a brand new engine design that a lot of aftermarket manufacturers have not caught up with yet, if you just want a daily driver and dont want to invest money in it, look around for a month then decide, if you want to mod it, look for one with the best condition of parts you dont plan on replacing either right away or soon, like mine has a lot of rock chips in the front but im gonna put a body kit on it and its gonna need a paint job after that anyway so i said to hell with it

^ we didn't have 200s up here; I didn't know anyone bought stripper ISs in Vancouver.

No sunroof, leather or fogs ... I dunno man ... I imagine his also doesn't have a real slip-dif, or rims bigger than 16". What about heated seats? M mode?

For $2k more I'll sell you mine (mine is totally loaded & I actually do need to sell it in the next week or 2 ... I'm picking up a new car & I'd love for my IS to stick around the club ... PM me if you're interested)

Give me the stats on ur car. It does have heated seats and 16" rims. So when I get it, the first thing i want to do is get the 17' OEM rims on it. I'm thinking about getting it just because it's a nice car with low kms. The price is the lowest that I have seen 02 is300 go for. I'm not planning to mod it, I like it cuz it's reliable and I like the looks of it.

It looks like any other stock white IS300. Just without all the goodies. But looks exactly like any other IS300 on the road.
