Rhd clip?
Hey guys, I'm new here to club Lexus. I currently don't own a IS300 but I will purchase one if I can buy a rhd clip for it. So does anybody know where I can find a rhd clip for the is300 (Toyota altezza)? I've searched on google but couldn't come up with anything. If you think this is a lame thing to do to an IS300 don't respond. I'm building aN ultimate JDM show car and it would be a lot cheaper do convert a Lexus than importing an Altezza from japan. Thanks in advance -Josh

It's a lot of work, cost a lot of money, and very time consuming. If you are doing most of the work yourself, you'll save money, but don't know how much. You have to clear out the engine and any other parts to get to the firewall. From there you have either can cut and wield the firewall from the Altezza over to the IS3, or you can cut a new hole for the steering wheel column, and plug the old hole. Relocate practically everything inside the engine bay, get new parts for some of it. This isn't a honda, so stuff isn't cheap. Be prepared to spend a lot of cash on it. In the end, I think you'll save more money and be happier importing then spending all the time and cash converting, but whatever floats your boat.

I saw one for sale on ebay like a month ago. it brought the clip wit beams engine 2.0 6 speed manual plus rear end wit all the wires. IS A GREAT IDEA (I was going to do it but am only 18 & dont have the budget). I been working in the body shops seems I was 14 wit my dad & his friends & wat I would do is cut the IS300 approximately were they cut the Altezza clip & weld them nicely together. if u haven't done this before i recomend u find alot of live recommendations. & dat ur a handyman.

whats up peoples. stumbled onto this thread . I converted my 02 IS to RHD in 2005. Picked up a full beams clip from Japanese Engines Inc. in NJ. The clip had light front damage so i was unable to use the Beams motor so I sent it back to Japanese Engines and switched to a VVTI Aristo GTE. Very time consuming swap but by all means, not impossible.
