New Here : Intro and a Couple Questions.
Hey guys just joined and wanted to introduce myself and ask a quick question. So i just bought an '01 Oynx Black IS300 and wanted to start modding. One question I had was i'm looking for suspension any recommendations for coilovers? I'm only looking to daily so I need cheap and soft coilovers, as of right now i'm looking at megens as I couldn't rationalize paying for anything more than $900. Please lmk what you guys think or if you can recommend any others.

Hey man thats great you are going a good route into modding the IS i wish when i started i started from the ground up and did suspension first! but yeah my buddy has the megans on his turbo IS300 and it rides very nice very stock like and hes pretty low that he rubs on 2IS rims! but i would recommend Stance coilovers if you are willing to pay a little bit more they are actually having a group buy on my.IS for the next shipment soon to arrive in January

If you want to do modding on your car, go all the way man, spend money and get the best one for your car....... otherwise just stay as it till you have enough money, thats my recommend...OK

Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC Type II's. I had them for a little over a year and they road like stock even being all the way as they could go.
I just sold them though. They were TOO soft (they rubbed my slightly aggressive wheels) and wouldn't go as low as I wanted. You can get them for like $780 or something from Evasive Motorsports.
If you plan to be SLAMMED though, they won't do it. And if you plan to go with flush/aggressive wheels, go with something higher up. No damping kills them.

Thanks a lot guys the info helps a lot, what [I plan on doing is using the car as daily as i mentioned but I also just bought some wheels 18X8 offset +25 all around and want to go low probably to the tire and not past it at all. So Megens will work I think unless I find some good used ones local in the Seattle area.

I would reccomend a used set of Tein coilovers. I have the CS (ride is better than stock), and if you want comfort you will have to pay. I have not heard the best about the Tein SS or Flex as far as comfort but I think you will be happier saving a little longer or trying to find a used set of something quality with say 10K on them.
I understand not needing anythign extravigant as you are not tracking your car but you have to pay to play. Comfortable and cheap do not belong in the same sentence.

Sway162 - I'm located on the Eastside mostly Bellevue
Cricket056 - I think your right with that last part, I'm actually looking for some coilovers local if I can, but I'm looking for something that rides close to stock and allow me to fit my wheels.

It kinda just depends on your goals and I guess what rims you are running. The whole point over coilovers is their adjustability of height, which should allow you to fit any wheel, assuming they will already fit on the car.
If you are not looking to be slammed, I would look into the Eibach Pro-Kit and the rights strut combo. I have heard good things about the ride quality with these. And if you are just looking for maybe a 2 inch drop and dont plan on going between say 17" and 19" rims you shouldn't have too much issue. This will also allow you to stay within your ideals for cost.
