Default IS300 coupe

In the current issue of Autoweek with the 2003 CLK on the cover they report the IS300 coupe is due end of this year. It is in the final couple of paragraphs in the article on the new CLK. Anybody hear any thing about his.

Hmm sounds tempting. Seems like Toyota is really getting to the point where they want to really compete in the sports coupe arena. Is it true that they are going release a 3s-ge Version of the Lexus IS300 that has a eaton/roots type blower in it?

I'm sure that's all rumors but it would be nice to have a IS300 coupe. I might get one if that's the case and if it came in a 3s-ge trim.

does the article mention anything about an announcement from LExus? If not, I think it's all rumor, hopes and dreams. But I hear that an AWD supercharged versions is coming out in november for 2003

No it does not. In my opinion I dont think lexus will make a IS300 in AWD with a s/c. However I was told by a lexus rep. that they will be redesigning the IS/altezza soon, as it is currently 3 years old.

There have been rumors about a V6 replacing the current I6. The reason being that the current I6 configuration is going to have a problem passing emission tests soon with the stricter standards. It's possible to produce a cleaner exhaust with a V6.

Second there will be NO AWD or S/C for 2003. The current model list came out about a month ago, and it does not include AWD or a coupe.

Also the Altezza is not 3 years old. It's about 6 years old now. It has been in Japan for awhlie. It is 3 years old in Europe.

Either a coupe or a supercharged IS 300.

Yes the IS Coupe is coming, but it's gonna be 2004 or 2005 before we can see it. The RX 330 coming out next springs or summers too. Ant then the GS on 2004. I've never heard of the AWD IS from Lexus yet and I hope not. If they do they need a turbo or SC just like the old Celica All Trac Turbo.

That site is way outdated. They said the Coupe would come out in 2002, or 2003. Well the 2002's have been out some time now so the article was obviously written awhlie ago. Lexus has said there 2003 lineup will not have a coupe. Go here to read about it on IS300.net http://www.is300.net/forum/viewtopic...304629&forum=1

Sorry I was wrong about the length of time that the IS has been out. I was going to put down 5-6 years, but didn't. Really it's been 4 (1999 really means sometime in 98).

I wish they would freaking finish the S/C! I might just have to drive to Flordia to Toyomoto for my fix.

I dunno, I know a Lexus salesman who is trading in his tight, modded Miata for a 2003 IS 300 and he won't say why but it must be for a hell of a reason besides a new exterior color.
