Hi all,
I am having some ignition problems on my 02 IS300 during a cold start.
When I turn the key, the engine cranks, but it seems like the engine is not getting any fuel. I have to step on the gas pedal and crank the engine at the same time in order to start the car and that hasn't failed me yet.
And I always leave the key in the ON position for a couple of seconds before I crank, to give the fuel pump time.
The throttle feels fine afterwards, so I don't think it's a fuel pump issue.
This issue used to happen sporadically on cold starts, but it is now happening at a much higher frequency.
Again, this issue only comes up on cold starts.
I did a quick search through the forums and didn't see anyone with a similar problem. Do you guys have any ideas on what might be wrong with my car?
Thanks.

wow, all these views, but no one has any answer?
heres some more info.
i noticed that if i leave the key in the ON position for around 30 seconds or so, then the car starts fine without gas. anything less than that, and I have to give it gas again.
also, my car is 5 speed with around 108,000 kms on it, if that helps.
Thanks

Do you have any acc in your key chain that emmits frequency.
IE...speedpass, auto start system, aftermarket alarm...etc...
This would hinder your immobilizer system and takes time for it to read your chipped key.
