my new ride ! :)
as some of you may know, i just helped my friend sharon to get her IS300 in blue.
i myself also, at around the same time, purchased my very first IS300 Sportcross in blue. it's a 2002 model, original owner, tinted with chromed factory rims. it has only 41k original miles on the car and the owner, whos is a police officer, sold it to me for $10k flat
i have two questsions for your enthusiasts out there
one, do you think i got a great deal? it has been dealer inspected, and i was told by longo lexus that i do not even need to do anything at this point!
two, upon opening the hood, i realzied that he replaced the factory intake with a metal long pipe, and underneath the engine bay, there is a small WHITE CAN attached to it, that reads "groupe92 or something)
may i know how much it costs to get the factory intake ?? and what is that WHITE can, is it original factory part?
thanks !!!!!!

ya i would say you got a good deal. its hard to find is300 under 90k miles without paying a lot higher.
n for intake you can some times find them on here under the classifieds or just get one at longo lexus.
n for the cans maybe be an oil filter but that would only be one.

congrats man, that is a pretty good deal. just to warn you, the 60K and 90K service is going to be pricey... check the FS sections for used intakes, or go buy a JoeZ for 100 bucks.

no worries. on the xcross you got a good deal. that's low miles for an 02. my xcross also blu has 90K. the dealer told me that you can easily put 170K on these cars w no major repairs. sounds like the air intake on your car is aftermarket which should give a bit more hp. cheers shot

You got a great deal for an 02 with 41k. The Intake is aftermarket. White can not sure. If the xcross and sedan have the same OEM intake, i'll sell you mine for 25. It's just sitting in a box in my trunk.

I just saw a 2004 sport design with 98k miles for $8600
Newer & cheaper, but has more miles.

As for the intake.....snap a picture and post it on here. I'm curious to see what kind of intake you are talking about.

Good Deal?
Hey Guys,
I'm new to this forum too...similar to the original post, I am currently in negotiation to purchase a 2005 IS 300 for $12k. Its automatic with no navigation and has 81k miles on it. Has never been in an accident also. I am just wondering what you guys think about this sale?
The cars in good shape...there's curbing on all the rims, some minor scratches all around, and 2 minor dents in the doors. As someone previously mentioned, the 90k mile service is coming up, which means the timing belt will need to be changed (this will run about 1600, i think)...any other major issues you see coming up?
Thanks.
