and 12.5k for an 05 with 64k is a great deal!
Sure it doesn't matter, but if someone wants less than I'm asking guess what....
I'm taking parts off and you'll see them for sale here on CL....

Well I went for it.

I visited a lexus dealer last week looking for an IS and they didnt have anything. They called and told me they got one today, so I went to look at it.

It was an 03 with 70k miles on it. The car looks good. Really clean interior and a just a tiny (buffable?) scrath along the door. There's a large buff/scratch near the bottom of the bumper but whatever. What I liked is that it was owned by a 55 year old woman who took it in for scheduled oil changes EVERY time, and bought a new SOMETHING service/part each time that was necessary. There was no service records on the 05-- I just felt more comfortable with this purchase.

We had a price war, but I settled on $10500, $11500 after TTL. Probably not a *steal* but I'd like to think I found a deal. Well, it did have 4 CDs in the disc changer, so maybe I did make out like a bandit.

To be honest, I'm just glad this car buying is over. I got tired of pushy owners/dealers. I dont have the car yet since they are detailing it, but I'm excited.

I saw that it had a 'Sport Design' (I think) badge on it. What's that?

TLDR: Bought a Black 2003 IS with 70k miles. I'm pretty excited.

Have fun with the car, but the deal hunter inside me is weeping lexus tears. An 05 should be worth: 15k, when a 03 should be worth 11k.

You got a good price on the 03 nonetheless. Congrats!
