Metal hitting metal noise
My IS300 is making a bad noise. When I turn the wheel to the right it sounds like metal is hitting metal. As I turn it slowly it will clank numerous times. I am sure that it is not power steering because I topped it off. Anyone know what this could be? or what part needs to be replaced?

does it only do this when you are standing still or driving? also, does it have OEM rubber brake hoses or stainless steel braided brake hoses? I ask because sometimes the stainless steel hoses won't flex like the oem ones when you turn the wheels and will hit/rub the inside of your wheel and sound pretty bad.

It will do it when I am driving and at a stop. It has the OEM brake lines. It will only do it when I turn the wheel to the right.
The noise I believe is coming from the front driver side suspension.
And I am not sure if it is the hub and bearing. Would this cause the noise?

I was getting this too. I would here some loud clanks as I turned the wheel at a stop. I also got the noise while moving <15mph. After replacing my front sway bar endlinks over the weekend, that noise has disappeared.

is it just clunking or a metal rubbing sound? I ask as I have the same problem but opposite side, ie: Mines rhd and i hear this rubbing when turning left only (I know its nothing to do with the actual wheel rims being aftermarket as it was there with the originals) and the Toyota techs couldn't find anything when I took it in to them...?

I know this thread is 2 months old, but I haven't been able to afford parts until recently.
Just to clarify, it was my lower ball joint. But Thank you everyone who chimed in!
