today i unplugged the negative of my battery and let my car sit there for two minutes. then reconnect it.

then, i felt the transmission shifted smoother and faster. is it just in my head or the disconnecting battery thing really RESET the central computer ????

 

You reset the ECU when you pull the battery. you may also notice needing to re-program the sunroof and windows for auto-mode.

 

ya u did reset the ecu... the way u drive it after u hook the battery back up is the way that the ecu will "learn" ur driving paterns. EG easy on throttle, cruise speed or stop n go traffic.

 

So easy on throttle just how I treat a new car during break in period??

 

It learns how you drive so drive how you normally would.

 

in other words beat the **** out of it

lol no, if ur a "grandma" driver it will learn ur driving patern and shift points. but if u beat it 0-100 stop light to stop light then it will learn to hold the gears longer and b dumping more fuel into ur motor.

 

might have to give this a try. time to hit the restart button one time LOL
