Do you have the valet or credit card key?

If you did have a valet (credit card key) you could order a key with a transponder from ebay and have it cut at a locksmith. Programming it very easy.

i didnt have any other keys except the master one

Ouch....You are prob gonna have to go through the stealership....otherwise you can call around to see if a mobile locksmith will try and match the key. I've had this done to my other car before but not my IS. I know that Lexus needs a special type of key cutter so it limits the number of locksmiths that can do your car. Sorry bro.....

you need at least one master key to program another... meaning you're out of luck even if you had the valet key. There's no way around it but to take it to the dealer and pay $500+ to have a new key cut and reprogrammed

Hopefully you don't have a 2001...
I heard it is REALLY expensive and gotta go through a bunch of crap.
New ECU and a bunch of other stuff like that.. sorry dude.

Sure I believe ebay key should work.
Worst case scenerio they don't let you use it for master key.
Then you will just have to use it as a duplicate copy so this doesn't happen again in the future...

call and ask the dealer if they'll even cut an ebay key. them sorry *** dealers around me won't cut the key if you didn't buy it off them. i called 4 dealers in my area and they all ranged in prices ($500 +/-) to make me a new master key you're very lucky if they do all that for a low price!

my dealers are real lax, he was like we'll cut the ebay key but he has seen the cases when they didnt work w cars

to make long story short he said to tow the car in and to cut and reprogram a key would be around $320 or so for one key, if i wanted to make 2 keys that would be like $550 or somthing like that

Just make one for now, then go another time and get a duplicate ebay key made.

My dealership told me it would cost $25 to make a copy of ebay key.
Then apologized for the price being soo high because they said "the metal from the ebay keys isn't very good and it eats the bit that is used to cut keys".

"I was just like, $25?!!! Im sold, see you tonight!!!!"

actually it doesn't take much 2 cut a key, i cut a house key today for $1.92

you have to go to a locksmith that does laser cut keys and they can cut you one for like $40. and they ebay bare ebay key is like $5 and then the transponder part is from Lexus and they are expensive
