engine has low revvs and backfires
Hi I have recently installed another 1G engine into my is 200 model.Since then the car starts well but does not rev high.on attempt to rev high it backfires and at times turns off the engine.The car is automatic and the gears engage well but it will not move because of the low revs and eventually the engine goes off
what could be the cause:?

i had something similar going on with my 2jz, long story short turned out my ECU was fried
perhaps you have something going on with your ecu, to me it sound like you have something going on that regulates fuel to air mixture, that includes MAF sensor, throttle position sensor, oxygen sensors, etc.
maybe someone else will chime in and give some more thoughts
