Carbon Fiber Roof Overlay
I have heard of some people doing carbon fiber roof overlays and I can't seem to come up with anyone on the Internet selling them. If anyone knows of where some are being sold please let me know. Any advice is awesome. Thanks

My buddy with his M3 had his whole roof skin removed and replaced with carbon fiber. It cost him a couple thousand but it looks a lot better than that sticker stuff.
Also some people do carbon fiber overlay, with overlay the carbon fiber material is layed on top of the roof/fender/door or whatever and resined on then clear coated and everything. When finished it looks really good and it is real carbon fiber, but it is just for looks because there is still the metal skin underneath so it's still heavy and everything..

I don't think there is a way to buy carbon fiber overlays. I have never heard of a company that sells carbon fiber overlays. Like badhaabit says, you will need to have it custom done. (if you are just doing overlay it will not be super expensive, just make sure you go to a shop that has experience with carbon fiber application).
It's about the same as doing fiberglass just with a couple extra steps if you are trying to make it independent. If you are doing just overlay then it should be exactly the same as fiberglassing. Scratch up the roof and make the surface rough, Apply fiberglass resin to the roof surface, apply carbon fiber cloth, apply fiberglass resin to the top, sand smooth, clear coat, done! Not exactly the process, but that's the general idea.

oh i found this, pretty cool but it's a much smaller scale.
And he is using a mold.
Since you want a roof overlay you won't be using a mold but instead directly applying the resin and carbon fiber material directly to the roof.
I would get a professional to do it though.
This is just to show you that it really isn't super difficult.....
