Default JIC or Injen or SRT?

I would like to see what people think of these air instakes - JIC, Injen, SRT.

I hear these three are all great. But which one is the best? That seems to be the real question.

Thanks,
Darren

Out of the three choices, without an ECU, to my knowledge given the fact that the check engine light doesn't come on, Injen is the best (naturally, you cannot even use a SRT intake without the piggyback ECU). Combine it with an Air Fuel Ratio Manager and a good tuner and you have a very wicked combo.

As a "complete package, no hassle intake system", one cannot dispute that SRT's is the best.

As for cost, the SRT package is overall cheaper as you get the Cold Air Box, piggyback ECU, intake, cone filter, detailed (I believe colored) instructions, solid packaging and you are able to install it yourself.

I hope that helps. I don't know much about IS300 intake systems, but this is what I collected up to date.

If you buy the injen, becarefull when you do the install. I've seen too many people cut the o-ring at the mass air flow sensor. Then the check engine light comes on (P0171) with a lean malfunction.

I personally like the SRT set-up the best.

Thanks!

This is some great input.

I did notice that the Injet requires an air fuel controller. Maybe Apexi S-afc?

I think that with myself having not to much experience, that the SRT may be best.

Have you guys heard of the JIC? The Lexus racing team where I live swears by it.

Thanks,
Darren

Actually, I talked to Team Lexus and they are no longer using the SRT intake system (also, you can check ou the partners link and SRT is not listed there any longer). Supposely, they went ahead and built their own intake system.

The SRT is still the Clear winner amongst these intakes, mostly do to the fact that it is 4" in diameter which will provide more charged air then all these others with the next size up being 3 1/4"s.

Also contrary to popular belief you can use the Race ECU as a paper weight and run the intake with an S-AFC which will offer an even better advantage, 4" intake with tune ability and the ability to run the intake with a Header and N2O with better results.

i have the srt intake and i have no complaints, the install was pretty easy but the r-ecu wiring can be tricky if you don't know what you're doing
