Bubbling Boiling in reservoir tank?!!
Last week the top hose on my radiator to the overflow tank on my 2003 IS300 broke and my car overheated to the point where it turned off. I just happened to be stopped at a light.
So, I bought a new radiator and had a new thermostat installed (last year I had the water pump replaced as well as . The car cranks great and there is no skipping or white smoke or anything like that. The issue is that now there are bubbles/boiling in the reservoir tank once the thermostat opens. Even if the thermostat was takenout it still has small bubbles that pop up when the radiator cap is off.
So Im just open to ideas here...I'm afraid from what my friend says that the head gasket is blown but the engine sounds too good for it to be that. Has anyone ever had this happen? Is there a bleeder plug or something that. I'm thinking that I may need a new radiator cap...at this point...I'm down to my worst case scenario. I just thought I would get others opinion as to what might be causing the bubbles.

I know I was hoping someone might prove him wrong or had a similar problem with bubbles after they installed a new radiator. I hate to think that my head gasket is blown and honestly I'm not sure how they can even test for that. The only thing I haven't done to rule out the issue is replace the radiator cap.

Well it turned out that I just needed a new radiator cap. The other one had a bad spring and I guess it wasn't allowing pressure to build up. As soon as we replaced it there was no more overflowing of water into the reservoir.
I hope this helps someone out. Very simple fix and something I overlooked.
