Got some free rims + advice needed.
Picked up some free chome stock is300 rims yesterday from my cousin but it turns out that 2 of them are pretty badly bent. I plan on getting an estimate from a wheel repair place but if they cost to much to fix, I plan on just buying 2 used ones. Not even sure if I want to throw these on my car, I just kind of want them just to have sitting in my garage :P
The current stock alloys on my car are pretty banged up (scrape marks, tar/brake dust, black marks) so I'm thinking of restoring them and painting them myself but Im not sure what color I want. I feel like I should just respray them back to OEM finish but then a part of my either wants to go bronze, white, or gunmetal. Opinions? Pics of other IBP with painted stockies would help also .
Only mods are spray painted red/white tails, black emblems, chrome grill painted and a roof wing.
The two good rims
And the two bad rims
And the cool lexus symbol I never knew they had

Yeah as far as I know the stock alloy rims can not be repaired especially if they looked like that!
But, I have no personal experience with stock chrome rims
If they are all chrome (which it looks liek they are) & not chrome dipped, it actually might be a possibility to repair them if you go to a good shop!
But I think 80% wheel shops won't touch them because it will be a lot of work banging and pulling, and that will weaken the metal in that area and more chance of getting a crack.
That's what I think. I'm not 100% sure on that though.
I would just bring those 2 bad ones to the rim shop. If they say no, just bring the wheels to the scrap metal recycling guy, maybe you can get $5-$10 for them.

Lol I'm not to sure, he told me the story a few years back but iirc he fell asleep at the wheel and hit a curb.....then he bought some other rims and a week later some lady wrecked into his car when it was parked on the street. She had to be going pretty fast because from the looks of the pictures he showed me, it was considered a total loss.

Those bends can be taken care of but the high end shops that can repair will charge you upward of $150-200 a wheel sometimes. You can always spray your wheels a gunmetal color. That would look awesome. Fairly easy process. Sand, primer, paint, wala. I've done it on numerous vehicles. Prepping is the most crucial part

They have two chrome rims for $100 each. But I'm not sure if its the Five spoke?
