Ok thanks sway for all your help. I have decided to save up for cams and do it at the same time. I have no idea where I'm going to get it tuned....

p.s. I'll prolly save up for the UR cam gear.

Yup, for sure bro. Good call.....you will be happy with the end results. FYI though.....you most likely don't need a tune with stage 2 cams on stock ECU. Only adjustment to make is finding the right setting for your exhaust cam gear. Retard range anywhere from -1--4. Most go with -4. That will also increase the the loping sound. I had retard mine at -2....and it was amazing.....subtle lope which I liked.

Do you have any audio of your car? Where you can hear the lope? I wanna get cams for my IS as well, but I've never heard it on an IS. Thanks

I really don't know. Never dyno. But from a butt dyno perspective it's night and day difference! lol

Yeah Brian Crower Stage 2 cams. Check out their website. Stick to 5 bolt cam gear.

They make 272s! This will not work on stock ECU.

Damn, I don't think I do. Let me look. It very subtle though at -2. Sounds great and totally changes the whole exhaust note of your car.

****ty thing is I was having other issues with my car and unfortunately had to remove my BC cams. =*(

Prolly like 25 whp there's a dyno in this thread here. An is300 made 210 whp with cams intake and exhaust. It didn't have a cam gear and it was an auto most likely. So I don't see why 225 whp is unrealistic with a cam gear and cams.

Here we go.

Apparently it did have a cam gear. Check near the bottom.

I will think about it, if you are serious. Wife and I just bought a new daily so could use some extra funds. Only 15k used on the cams.

Yes, imho....it's best bang for your buck without going boost. Read this thread. The ultimate thread on cams and what everyone has said about them. You can gain up to 22 whp....or even more. I'd say it's worth it.

Will do.

Got a 2012 Jetta Sportwagen TDI. We love wagons.

After 4 fill ups....avg 39 mpg, and will only get better.

No such thing as BC 262 dur BC cam ??? Its 264* for stage 2 , 272* for stage 3 ...

Adv. Dur. Dur @ .050 Lift (in) Lift (mm)
Stage 2 264°/264° 218°/218° .344"/.344" 8.74/8.74
Adv. Dur. Dur @ .050 Lift (in) Lift (mm
Stage 3. 272°/272° 229°/231° .375"/.380" 9.52/9.65

2JZGE (Lexus IS300) Stock 248°/248° 200°/194° .337"/.327" 8.56/8.31

Ive had stage 2 cams for couple years now they are hands down best NA mod and awesome with boost...

As far as Cam gears ive ran Greddy and UR both are very good quality and great parts ...

-3 on the cam gear adjustment for best results yes its been proven ............
