Default We're dealin'

I ordered an Absolutely Red '03 IS300 with factory-installed L-Tuned Series 1, Nav, leather, E-Shift, moonroof, Limited Slip, Stability Control, blah blah blah for $5k off the MSRP. The dealer made about $825 off the top and $400 for the salesman. It'll be here in three weeks.

I hope the TRD (L-Tuned) exhaust isn't too loud.

The L-Tuned exhaust is perfect IMO if you ae wanting to keep a quiet classy sound. It does have a nice and deep sound though when you open up the throttle. It has a nice look too. The tip is not to large(coffee can) but bigger than stock for a little more aggressive look. I have been very pleased with mine.

Default I'm interested too

Smokey, where did you get this deal? I see you're in IL, I wasn't aware that L-tuned equipment was available in the midwest. I thought it was still only West Coast... It sounds like an awesome price... 5 grand off MSRP.. wow. Were there any changes to the 2003?

Folks seem to be interested, so I'll finish the post;

L-Tuned is available everywhere, and in any color - though the brochures say only graphite, silver, and red. It's $150 more to get yellow, green, etc. I requested the documentation from my salesman (who is in Houston, TX by the way, at Sterling McCall Lexus) regarding variations on the standard L-Tuned Series I and II. There is a LOT of info available to the dealers about these packages.

I'm a little bummed that since I ordered the car with L-Tuned that I will not receive the parts that were removed from the assembly-line car like the front bumper and the stock muffler. With dealer installed kits, you get to keep these parts (AND SELL THEM ON THE WEB). I would have stood the bumper in my office, as a conversation piece.

I don't like spreading this around, but dealers want to sell cars. They don't really want to spend all day haggling. The key is to ask for the salesman of the month (sometimes dealing with one a thousand miles away), and one that wants to move vehicles. I found one that would take a few hundred dollars for himself and the dealership in exchange for ordering me a car. Salesmen are competing these days nationwide to sell cars (crap economy) so expand your search and you too can get a good deal.

I found a dealer by researching the top volume dealers in the country and calling until I found someone ready to sell a car over the phone (with my credit card info of course). Hope this helps.
