Cool Turbo!!

So I am looking to turbo the lexus, nothing special I am just looking for some extra hp about 300 I do plan on also buying an exhaust headers intake and chip so what price range am I looking to get the turbo for? And am I going to have to built up the motor if I put in a small turbo in it? Also will the car still be reliable with the turbo? Thanks click...

You have alot of reading to do and build threads to check. Our stock motor will hold 400hp reliably with a good tune and if you upgrade to a turbo supra headgasket and ARP head bolts you will be fine. The word "chip" is for fords and ricers, you will need a piggy back or EMU like the greddy E-Manage ultimate. Anything over 350hp on our 5speed tranny and you will blow it up. Ebay turbo kits are pretty garbage unless your actually gonna run only 300hp. A good kit is an SRT kit that comes complete for $8000 new or about $2-3000 used. Turbonetics kits are about $5500 new and $2000 used. With this info start researching on here and my.is forum

PS sounds like a gte swap is the better option if your spending 8000 just on a turbo kit

The swap is not such a good idea because it will cost that much just to get the motor in your car. After that you still need to upgrade the turbo and everything else just to pass 400hp. Your best bet is to bolt on a turbo kit and keep it around 350hp until you can upgrade the transmission. I'm on the phone right now so I can't find the link but you can find my build thread. I'm building my stock motor to run up to 650hp but will keep it at a reliable 450hp and I'm still less then $6 to 7000
