I dont know much about turbo'd cars but my bro just barrows a friends cats and has a part cut out in the exhaust that is interchangable for a stright pipe or a cat so when hes done he just takes the cat back out this probably doesnt help u but thought id toss that out there.

maybe get the token solutions o2 simulator and see if you can pass with that a lot cheaper than buying new cats

short answer: No. Emission = keep it stock.

long answer: it depends on the test they perform

the IS has 3 or 4 cats if i remember correctly. 2-3 on the exhaust manifold (aka header) and 1-2 on the actual exhaust piping. when turboing a car you'll swap the exhaust manifold for a turbo manifold. if the emissions involves a visual inspection you'll never pass.

you maybe able to add a few cats in your exhaust piping if its just sniffer test. but i think they'll burn out. cats dotn do well with the heat of a turbo

you maybe able to set up a system trick if the emissions test is via the obd plug.

It has total of 3 cats. 2 up front and one at the underside body. You put a turbo that is not legal, of course it's not gonna pass smog for visual.
