Default is300 mileage question

Hey guys, I had a few questions on the subject of mileage.

I found an is300 that I want to buy, but it has around 193k miles on it. Is that too much, and how long can these motors last with good care? How about the tranny? Cause he said he replaced the tranny.

I'm running the same tranny and my engine is rock solid, i have 205,500 miles on my car and i am achieving on avg 23 mpg. i trust my 2jz to atleast 300,000 miles, ive never owned a 2jz that had less than 140,000 miles already on it. i would not hesitate to buy from the miles however the tranny replacement would throw a red flag.

why would the tranny replacement throw a red flag? cause he probably beat on it so thats why he had to replace it?

Idk if you're getting it for a steal, but You could probably find one with lower miles for a good price. But the 2j is a very reliable engine. Mt or at?

The average auto tranny needs a rebuild around 200k. If the car runs good and has good compression at the right price than I would look into it. I just put a new tranny in my car, now I'm good for a while

I have a 2001 is300 with 171,000 with the original auto tranny and runs as strong as ever. All I have ever done was replaces the tranny oil pump bearing because I Overheated the bearing doing to many donuts. Other then the pump bearing and seal for it everything is original with 171k on it.

if all proper maintenance has been kept up it should not be a problem...but either way must always be cautious with that amount of miles. try finding other options IMO
