Default Seeking advice on used IS 300 purchase

Good Day,

I was hoping to get some advice regarding purchasing a used IS 300. I most likely will be purchasing a car in the next two weeks. Following my mechanics advice, I am investigating the Lexus IS 300 and the Infinity G35. Given that I am trying to finish a professional degree, I am looking at somewhat older higher mileage cars. I don't want to take on a car note until finish school, thus I'm trying to stay under 10,000 dollars. Most of the car's I've seen have had 80 to 120k miles, which I have no issue with given I was told the engine is good for about 300k. I'm coming from a European car, thus I lack the expertise to make an informed decision regarding the condition of these vehicles. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could tell me if there are any major services post 100k I should be aware of, in addition to any specific things I should look for, avoid, or have my mechanic check out.

Thank You,

Draxith

engines are solid. normal maintenance, i.e. timing belt and water pump and the car will run forever
