Default New to Lexus, just bought a IS 300

Hello all I just bought my first Lexus, or Toyota for that matter. I bought an 01 300 IS with 99k. I had a few questions about the 90k maintenance.
I plan on getting the timingbelt, waterpump, serpentine belt, and cam seals done. I contacted a Toyota dealer in Washington PA and they said they cannot work on any Lexus, even though the engine is the same as in a supra (2JZGE) non-turbo. I do not want to take it to a Lexus dealer$$$$$$.
I will try to contact an other Toyota dealer tomorrow. I would also like to get the tranny and diff fluid changed, but NOT flushed because I have heard horror stories about how destructive that can be. I also want the sparkplugs changed. I believe that they are to be changed every 60k. I wanted to do the fuel filter but then I read that its a lifetime filter. Dose all of this sound like a good plan? Anything else I need to address? Thanks

Welcome to the club and congrats on your purchase. Its really easy to do the 90k service yourself. Its time consuming but easy. Idk how old your pcv valve is but you might want to change that while your at it. Also you want to change out your thermostat since your going to have everything apart and its right there once you take the water pump off. Have you bought the stuff yet? Im trying to remember but there was a site that sold the 90k service maintenance parts as a kit. If i find it ill def let you know. There are a few threads that will help you do the 90k. I also have the IS300 pdf on my laptop that i can share with you as well.

I found a Toyota dealer that will do my timing belt for 425. Sounds OK but they want another 200 for the waterpump. Lexus does not call for it to be replaced at 90. I have yet to get a price on the other stuff. Should I just pay the 200 for it or not?

Depending on where your located in Pa. Try hitting up First State Motorsports in Delaware, He should be able to take care of you for a reasonable price. Talk to Dan the owner and tell him TJ with the Silver Boosted IS sent you.

It is safe to do the water pump with the timing belt to save on the labor.

OK so whats the deal with changing the ATF? I have read many things and as far as I can tell I should do the following. Drain about 4 quarts out the drain hole and add 4 quarts of Toyota ATF where the dipstick is.
There is no filter correct?
You are not supposed to remove the ATF fluid pan like we did to cars back in the day correct?
It actually reads right on the AFT dipstick "does not require maintenance under normal driving conditions" but the owners manual does call for the ATF to be changed.
Any thoughts guys?
