Default Question about instrument cluster swap

I recently purchased an american 2002 IS300 and I live in Canada.
I was interested in swapping the instrument cluster over to a canadian one and was curious if when I plug in the new one what will happen with my milage?
Will it read the same as it does now?
Will it convert my milage to kilometres?
Or will it transfer the milage of the car it came from?

mileage is stored in the cluster, your car will lose value as the mileage displayed will not be "true" once you swap the cluster.

You may be able to get a dealership to rewrite the mileage on your replacement cluster, but it's hit or miss.
