Hardwired V1 - drawing power?
Hey guys. I recently purchased a V1 and Hardwired it myself. I used the following instructions.
http://my.is/forums/f221/how-hard-wi...-is300-440467/
The only difference is that when tapping into the wire I tapped the same location but mine had no red in it. Weird but I went with it. Works great.
However, when starting I can see the volt meter low which eventually rises quickly to where it should be. Is this normal or did I mess up? Thanks.

How often are you driving your car? I didn't think about this... but had done the same and need to troubleshoot parasitic loss... If I don't drive every 1-2 days, the battery is drained to the point of where it won't start. Been working through troubleshooting my audio wiring as well, but it's not showing any signs of a short- so I may be blaming the wrong part.
Is my problem similar to yours?

What year is your car?
The wiring is different depending on what spec you got.
my 2004 B Spec IS (No tinting mirrors or compass) had completely different wiring than one that did.
