I just bought myself a is300 it's not registered so I can't drive it its in Los Angeles and I live in sacramento about 400miles away I have a truck to tow it with I don't know what to use to tow it.
A. A tow dolly
B. a tow bar

Please tell me your thoughts.

I'd say a toll dolly, just to be safe. I'm sure there's cases where a tow bar rips off the bumper lol

Go to DMV get temp plates and drive? Or USHIP? Might be cheaper than driving down and trailering the car back. LA to SAC should be a common enough route considering time and fuel. And truck/trailer rental.

I'd read the owners manual and see what Lexus says. Some cars can be ruined by towing behind a dolly.

flat bed would be the safest and best option

if anything have the seller do half with you. (he prob should be taking off money cause its not registered anyways)

The rear wheels can't be touching the ground unless you remove the driveshaft, and you can't remove the driveshaft without transmission fluid pouring out the tail of the trans, so, pretty much needs to be on a flat bed type trailer, or, if the front wheels are on a wheel lift (ie regular tow truck), then the rears need to be on a dolly...
