Digital Clock Always On
Hi all, just looking for some help please, I have done a search but my skills are either weak or I cannot locate a thread.
My sisters IS, we have fitted an aftermarket headunit, and used a wire conversion harness brought from eBay. Since then, the clock is always illimunited and draining the battery! She doesn't the drive the car often so it can stay parked for 2/3 days and the battery will die!
There are 2 yellow power wires, cutting one of them turned off the lights for the fan controls and the rear screen heater etc so this was put back into action.
Can someone please advise on how we can fix this please? Any wiring changes that I need to make isn't an issue, problem is a lack of time for me to fix it by investigating so if someone could help me out that would be great!

When you say illuminated, do you mean lit up, as in back lighting, or the clock is always on?
The clock is meant to be on by design - it draws extremely little power and will not kill a healthy battery...
Perhaps something else is going on with the new radio install, or perhaps the battery is just on the edge of dying...

What radio is it? I know the Pioneers (and some others) have a yellow and a red wire which can be disconnected. You can do this and connect the yellow to the red and red to yellow. It might help you.
I know when installing radios with these wires, they cannot always remember your setup in the radio and when changing the wires with each other it will be able to remember your setup. Maybe this can help you with the clock

It's an Alpine headunit with the red and yellow wiring at the plug as per normal ISO plugs
The clock is always lite up and displayed, and the battery has been replaced recently. Doesn't help that it is always parked up.
Before the wiring was switced back over when the clock wasn't always illuminted but the lights for heater controls didnt work there were no issues with the battery going flat
