First is300 build questions!
Hey everyone!
I just recently purchased my 2001 is300. So far love it. I've been looking into putting a turbo on it, but for a decent kit it's around $5-7k, as I'm sure everyone on here knows by now.
I have a 2jz-ge engine with 156k original miles on it. Original auto trans. as well.
I was hoping that someone could possibly help me out with some pointers of putting together my own turbo kit.
I've thought about swapping to a 2jz-gte, but I kind of want to keep the original motor.
Would it be better to just change some of the parts in the ge engine to gte in my case?
Any help would be appreciated!

I can help you out just pm me I've got a list of parts you need and what kinda parts you need for different levels of hp. Either that or ask Mitsuguy he knows a great deal and can also help you out.

It depends on your power goals, for the most part...
I mean, you can turbo a car with essentially:
exhaust manifold
turbo
wastegate
downpipe / exhaust
fmic
ic piping
bov
oil feed / return lines
this will get you turbo'd, but there is so much more
fuel injectors
fuel pump
standalone and necessary sensors
fuel return system (optional but recommended)
as for the OP, there is no reason to swap motors, just build the factory motor with GTE or non-vvti GE internals
