Default In the market for a used IS

So i've been "test driving" my friends IS350 and am in love with the car. Trading in my BMW soon and I'm just trying to find out, out of the IS300 and IS350 which would yall recommend. My price range is from 10k - 20k. So im leaning more towards the IS300 plus it seems more "manlier" than the 2nd generation. Seen way to many females in the 2nd gen, even though it was only the is250. Just curious on anyones input and advice. Thanks

Just depends on what you are looking for... IS300 will be older and possibly require a little more maintenance than a newer 350... I wouldn't get a 250 for anything - they have terrible engine problems, the least reliable motor of any Lexus or Toyota period...

If you ever plan on modding and making it faster, 300, but the 350 is quite a bit faster to start...

OP might be able to find a used is350 in the price range you are looking for.

If I had a choice I would look for a is350 before an is300. After I exhausted all avenues, I would consider an is300.

Good luck.

You evidently haven't dealt with the 3.0L V6 they put in the pickups and 4Runners in the late 80's and early 90's....referred to as the 3.slow, terrible head gasket issues.

I can deal with under powered, and even head gasket issues... the way they fix the 250's is to rebuild the whole motor with tighter tolerances on piston rings... and then I don't think that is a complete fix to the carbon fouling that will eventually happen again...
