IS300_Chic

Hey guys,
i was just wondering about a new front grille for the IS. i dont like the Altezza "z" or whatever it is called, but i want something that looks plan and simple with no emblem on it. Or could the signature tab that comes on some grilles be taken off easily? I prefer either black or carbon fiber grille. Does anyone have the RMM front grille? Is it hard to install a new grille? Let me know if anyone could help me on figuring out which grille i should get. Thanks in advance.

Grilles are very easy to install. I think I put mine on in about 2 minutes, give or take. I used a Toyota part though so it may be harder for some others. The TRD unit may suffice for you. I've seen a lot of guys paint the outer edge to match the car and have a black internal mesh or they get CF (TRD is fake CF). You can usually remove the logos without too much trouble at least on the TRD one. VIS makes a very nice one that can be ordered at lextasy.com (http://www.is300.net/forum/viewtopic...ghlight=grille) and there are others. Do a search on 'grille' at IS300.net and you will found about a million posts on the subject. Good luck.

I would recommend the TRD grille and have the fake CF stripped and painted over if you want to match the rest of the car. If you don't mind "real" CF, then definitley go for Lextasy's CF grille!

The grille is not made from VIS. This grille is custom made for Lextasy.

Where can I get Lextasy stuff? My local dealer is selling a grill just like that one. for $550. Does L-Tuned offer it? The dealer one looked like painted cf though.

thanks for the help everyone. i might go for the lextasy front grille becuase i like the carbon fiber look to match the front lip.

IS300_Chic is correct. You can purchase the CF Grille at www.Lextasy.com.

The grille your dealer is selling is most likely TRD's CF "look" grille. It is not real CF, but a layer to look like CF. I had this grille and it's not even close to Lextasy's.

Lextasy has one on e-bay right now, so you may be able to save some money. They want $250 for it on their site.

Are you sure? I am almost positive that I read somewhere that VIS makes that for them and it's pretty much identical to the one they already market. Either way, it doesn't matter, it's a nice unit.

I posted pics on .net and members replied that it was the VIS grille, but it is not.

I personally received a PM from Lextasy stating that it was custom made for them. I am their 1st customer to have this grille!

I guess VIS copied it from TRD, but used real CF.

I looked for VIS's CF grille and it seems that it isn't on their website.

By the way, these grilles from Lextasy are coming from Japan. They might be coming from the same manufacturer that makes it for VIS...I don't know.

All I can say is that it is nice and finally I've got one. I was getting tired of the CF "look" of the TRD grille.
