New project Is300
New user, first post. I did a little (quick) searching and didn't find too much.
It's time for me to get a new project, I've had various projects over the years, supercharged 350z, 67' Chevy drag truck, super stock racing (dirt track) car, CRX with LS turbo swap,
integra LS turbo (bought it after my return from deployment in Iraq and wrecked it 4 days later, then rebuilt the thing from ground up)
70' nova mild street rod, then built up my Cummins diesel truck (which I still have) and as of lately focused on my street bikes. Nothing too extravagant, but I'm also not a newbie hot rodding cars.
I got rid of all my toys a while ago (except my bikes) and bought the wife a nice ride, and focused on the house and family, so I don't have a car to play around with right now.
My buddy just picked up a 95' RX7 twin turbo so now I have an itch to get something to play around with again. I've always wanted to build a twin turbo fox body mustang GT, but have also always wanted to build a turbo IS300. I'm leaning more towards the IS300 as I know the engine has a lot of potential, and looks better.
So just asking IS300 turbo owners, to turbo the IS what upgrades am I looking at to make a decent amount of power (at least 450- 500hp. More if I can) will I need to upgrade transmission (manual) rear end u joints, clutch etc. what all am I looking at getting into to turbo An IS300.
Thanks in advance for all your input.
