05 is300 not cranking after new plugs and wires
Car has 165000 miles on it, runs great, just leaked oil. So I changed the valve cover gaskets and installed new plugs and wires while I was at it. Also new Pcv valve. Reassembled and engine ran very rough and died. One of the clips that plug into the coil packs broke so I replaced it. Then I replaced the other 2 as well by cutting the wires and only twisting them together as I plan on soldering them after all is working. Each clip has 2 wires and I think they are in the right order. The plug wires are right as well. I purchased a spark tester and am not receiving anything from plug one, but I do have spark on plug 5. Not sure on #3/4 because I'm literally exhausted from removing the throttle body 100 times. Also I pulled codes and got 4 different tps codes that are cleared and not back yet. Any idea why no spark on cylinder 1 even though spark on 5?

It cranks, just won't turn over. Moved coil packs around, same thing. I put a spark tester on 1, 3, and 5. No light only on number 1. Tried the old plug cable, same thing.

Did you disconnect the battery when you were working on the car? What type of spark plugs did you use? I think the is300 engine is exactly the same as the gs300. It runs on coil packs. So exactly what wires did you change? And did you double check if you connect all the air and coolant lines back correctly?

Yes, disconnected battery. Denso titanium plugs. NGK plug wires. Yes lines and connections. Coil packs seem ok because I swapped them around to check to see if one was bad. Coil packs seem ok.

Update. Coil packs are tested and good. Was able to get spark on #1 by holding the rear coil pack in hand, clipping to the front and spark testing number 1. So 1st thing in the morning I'm going to trace the 2 wires that connect to the rear coil pack in hopes of finding a break or bad spot in the wire. Fingers crossed.
