2001 IS300 VVT help!
Howdy y'all. I have a 2001 IS300 with @140k miles on it that has been giving me some problems. I am getting a P1349 code over and over again. I put in a brand new OEM VVT solenoid and cleaned the filter and no luck. The engine is running ok but if I reset the ECU i get a CEL and Traction off light somewhere between 5 and 75 miles in. Are there any other components that could be causing this code?

P1349 can be caused by a couple issues. Let's walk through them. (Taken from TIS)
1) Valve timing (ensure the engine is in proper time).
2) OCV (you've replaced this and the filter so we can rule this one out)
3)VVT controller assembly (this is the intake cam gear). Check for leaks.
4)ECM, on plug E7 Pin 18 is red with yellow stripe this is the OCV+ pin 17 is yellow with black this is the OCV -. Ensure those are connected. Also check the harness connector that connects to the OCV. see if the wires are loose or have been pulled too hard. TIS didn't give me a voltage reading for the 2.
If all of this is good, you may want to pull the hard line that feeds oil to the OCV. There could be a piece of debris, or blockage somewhere between the engine to OCV, or OCV to vvt cam gear.
