Tired of wet trunk and foggy windows. Trunk vents
I am tired of the car fogging up and having moisture in the trunk. My flaps are in bad shape and my bumper cover is a tad wonky from a bit of off roading my wife did when she hit some ice last year.
I have read a few threads about closing the vents stating that they only help the trunk close and others that say they vent the cabin in the case of airbag deployment or depressurizing the cabin if you go in to the drink. Has this argument been settled yet?
What have you guys done about this?

I know over in the 2IS forum, those flaps are the cause of internal moisture/condensation in the trunk leading to amplifier failure. There's a thread where a guy actually posted pics of how they fail and he replaced them. I'd err on the side of caution and replace them. You may be right in that it just keeps from popping peoples ears in the car when you slam the trunk, but these things being Lexus are sealed pretty good to reduce road noise. A breathable interior might be necessary to save some ear drums during an airbag deployment.
