I'm looking at a 2002 canadian edition IS300. So far, I can see there is:

-a/c
-6cd in dash
-heated seats
-power seats
-leather seats
-17" 5star wheels
-moonroof
-front fog lights
-5speed

Is there any way to tell if this particular model would have the LSD in it? on the model number on the drivers side door jam? under the hood? VIN number?

Most of the manual transmissions have the LSD too, if you can get the original window sticker, it'll say, if not, a lot of times it is written on the rear diff housing, not sure on the IS though

Open your door. If you look at one of those seals (near the B-pillar) you will see a stamp. One indicating transmission and differential code.

Transmission code = W55 (Manual Transmission)
differential (with LSD) = B01B ('02-'03 models with 5MT)
B02C ('01 e-shift)
no LSD = B02A
