is it worth it?
a friend is wanting to sell is 2001 is300 for $16,000 with 60k on it, bought it at 50k about a year ago, it has lowering springs and shocks, tinted windows, i think its a 5 speed custom grill and rims, is it worth it? oh yeah and his father owns a jag dealership so im guessing its been stealer maintained

First off.... The 01' IS300 ONLY came in AUTOMATIC. Seeing you didn't even know that I'd presume you don't know much about the car in general.
If you like driving boring auto's then it's a good deal, although the '01 suspension is HORRIBLE to say the least. And that's a good amount of miles for an '01 and I'm sure your friend beat the crap out of the car while driving it. Not only that, you'd be the third owner on a car with 60K miles?? If you're thinking thrifty think about the costs to maintain and insure this car. If you're under 25 your insurance will be $2000+ a year.
The IS is not a cheap car to repair either.
To each their own....
Personally, I'd throw down an extra $9K and get a used '02 of my liking.....

damn i never thought of it like that, i wasnt exactly sure about the tranny its ether a 01 or 02 but yeah ur right he does haul *** in it alot, i guess im just gonna stick with gettin a sc, thanks alot guys
