After replacing the engine (still a 2jzge, just from a 2002 IS300), the car doesn't crank when I turn the key. I've already tested the battery and starter relay, both work fine. The starter works fine when I short the relay manually, but nothing happens when I turn the key. What could be the issue?

Are you getting fuel? Next check spark. Double check all your connection.

I've double checked the connections, but I'm not worried about the engine running after it's been started. I'm trying to get the starter to react when I turn the key.

Have you checked the trigger lead going to the starter when you turn the key? If nothing is getting to it. I would say it is the ignition switch. Unless you have had a wreck or done some ind of swap.
