Hi guys!
I have a lexus is200 for a couple of years now and 1gfe is really boring. So i came across a 1994 - 96 gs300 (2jzge non vvti) and bought it. the Gs is not really in a good condition at all body wise and interior, so i decided to do an engine swap. The plan is to swap the engine, gearbox, and ecu and put it in my is200. I spoke with a mechanic on how will be doing it, and he told me for him putting the engine to my is200 is not a problem, but the issue will be with wiring. I spoke to a guy dealing with wiring, he told me he can get it to work fine. I also asked him about things such as the interior lights, headlight and tail lights, dashboard lights, speedometer he says he can wire them to work but we must keep the IS200 Body Control Module.
Now, in my is200 there are features that are not in the gs300, on the gear shifter side, there is a PWR and SNOW button, now the GS has only PWR and Normal, i have a fuel mpg gauage in is200 which is not there in Gs300. I have cruise control but gs does not, i have traction control but the gs doesn't and as you know, is200 has obd2 port and the gs has obd1. I asked the guy for iring and he told me those features will not be possible to get them back and we have to rely on the functions of ECU from gs300 as it was originally in the car. Is this true?
I would love for everything to work even some features are not really important like SNOW and Fuel MPG but i just dont like seeing dead features. Is it possible to wire all these to work?
Before anyone tells me to sell both cars and buy the is300, I can't. First, there is no is300 in my country and selling a 6 cylinder car is not going to be easy at all, people here prefer the 3sge rather than 1gfe, and the gs300 no one gonna buy it, since its 3.0L and due to its condition, no one will be intrested in it. I am only intrested in the Engine not the car. And i think i am safe if i say, its the only gs300 here i saw.
Please help to shade some light on this journey![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
