Best Gas vs. Best Electric Pressure Washer: Which One to Buy?

If you’re on the market for a new best rated pressure washer, you will eventually have to deal with the question of whether the powerful, more capable gas powered washers are more right for you or it would be the battery-operated, more energy efficient, and environmentally friendly electric washers.

In this article, we will compare the Best pressure washer brands that run on gas and the best electric high pressure washer for your consideration.

1. Sun Joe SPX3500

Sun Joe is a reputed manufacturer in the industry with plenty of great products in their portfolio to show like the famed Sun Joe SPX3500. The SPX3500 reflects the natural evolution of the company’s products, which has shown marked improvement in terms of performance, design, and ergonomics in comparison to older products.

The SPX3500 can generate a total of 2300 PSI worth of water pressure at its maximum setting and a flow rate of about 1.48 GPM. In order to achieve this kind of performance, the Sun Joe SPX3500 is loaded with a 13-amp, high quality electric induction motor.

Its performance is great enough to cover most light cleaning jobs around the house, providing an excellent option for ordinary households that don’t have regular need for extreme cleaning power.

The design is still eye-catching as always in the company’s standard black and green color palette. In comparison to the older model, the SPX3000, the SPX3500 has better aesthetics with a slimmer profile and sharper edges that give it a significantly more beautiful and elegant look. Additionally, the smaller form makes this quality pressure washer easier to store and maneuver around, too.

Nonetheless, despite the obvious improvement in design, it seems like the company has yet to properly solve the weight distribution problem. This washer can be easily tipped over, which is a problem that has been noticed in older models.

It’s got a sizable detergent tank for soaping, a wide range of complementary nozzles, rotary brush for cleaning up stains, and a durable, metal spray wand.

2. Simpson Cleaning MSH3125-S

It’s clear from the very first look of the Simpson MSH3125-S that this is a true workhorse. It doesn’t focus at all on aesthetics like the Sun Joe SPX3500, instead, the bare metal frame, the solid Honda engine mounting, with large diameter wheels for transportation alludes to a complete utilitarianism to design.

The reliable GC190 Honda engine can generate a whopping 3200 PSI of water pressure at a nominal flow rate of 2.5 GPM. The engine design is low-maintenance with an axial cam pump that’s marketed to be able to go completely maintenance-free throughout the lifespan of the washer.

Like we previously mentioned, the solid metal frame can solidly support the weight of the engine and some. The ten-inch pneumatic wheels make this good pressure washer quite maneuverable in spite of its weight.

You won’t need to do any assembling job because the MSH3125-S will arrive at your doorstep completely assembled and ready to go at a moment’s notice.

The one disadvantage to this pressure washer is that it doesn’t have an integrated detergent tank. There is a detergent input in the unit, but when compared to units with internal tanks, it doesn’t fire a lot of detergent.

But in spite of this little hiccup, the MSH3125-S is a true workhorse that should be considered if you’re looking for Good pressure washer brands on the market for professional purposes or for high-intensity home use.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are clear cases to use either of these models: for most residents, we recommend the Sun Joe SPX3500 since it is a significantly better choice for a power washer for home use. Otherwise, you can consider the MSH3125-S for raw power and performance.

It is a cracked TPS or APP sensor on the throttle body. Replace the TPS first. It is cheaper. Then wait and see if it does it again.

You should check for history codes to see if it picked up anything. It could have been the fuel pump starving, or starting to fail. They say you shouldn't run the tank empty because the pump needs to stay submerged in order to not overheat. The other likely thing is the throttle. Although I doubt anything just cracked. It could just be filthy with oil/carbon build up and no linger allowing the right amount of air to pass through. I'd clean the TB out first and do a computer reset with the battery disconnect method. I fix countless run-ability issues just by cleaning throttles all the time at my shop. Enjoy the throttle response and fuel economy restore too!
