Default 2001 is300 with no navigation- wants factory navigation

anyone know if its possible to purchase a lexus is300 navigation system to be installed in a 2001 lexus is300. i wouldnt mind getting an aftermarket one, but the factory ones on the 2003-04's look cleaner since u utilizes that felt ashtray space. plus its flips up n down which is a plus.

put it this way, with money you can do anything. but the amount it will take a non nav is3 to have the oem nav, it will cost A LOT more than the 2000 bucks on sticker

Rominl is right. You're better off doing an aftermarket headunit navi than spend the money on parts and labor to get a factory nav unit in your 01.

One of the Seloc.net guy( and several on IS300.net) did his by installed the factory Nav housing(cost around $600.00).Then installed a Panasonic 7" screen in the factory housing, then installed Alpine Nav/DVD player in the trunk. He still have the factory look on his non-nav car.

That's definitely the best alternative to getting the "factory" look.
