Default Lowered IS350 and 250 both rubbing on front driver side only???

Hey guys,

I have both a 2008 IS250 and 2007 IS350, with both the same wheel and tire combo (18x8.5 on 225/40/18 cant remember offset) they will both make a sound that sounds like the plastic inner shield is rubbing with my tire, and this will only happen on the front driver side on both cars, the sound will only happen if suspension is being loaded, for example on a highway with slight dips and weight transfer is going toward the ground then i will hear a fairly load kinda scraping of plastic noise.

Anyone know what it is or how to get rid of it, everywhere i read that 18x8.5 are fine for the front. I forgot to mention i am lowered on bc coilovers about 2 inches and fenders are rolled already.

Thanks team Lexus!!!!!!

I would check your bumper tabs and then possibly consider relocating them. Mine is scraping on everything, all the time. And I feel its not even that low. But I do want to raise her up a wee bit regardless.

I had the same issue with a very similar wheel and tire size as you (I have +40 offset all around). I had to trim and push some of the fender liner back for both the front (L & R side) otherwise it would rub on turns and cause that noise. Consider that the fender liner is quite old at this point and the plastic will be semi brittle which may be the cause of the issue as well.

I think i figured it out and thanks for the responses, it looks like front bumper mount just below headlight was just slightly rubbing and all i did was bend it upward with my fingers and now it looks like it doesnt rub.

Does anyone know if i go with another wheel 18x8.5 with +45 offset on 225/40/18 tires will have any fitment issues on my lowered IS???? My guess is the +35 offset is a safer setup but all out of stock.

On a side note why does it seem like there is a shortage of wheels everywhere?????

Thanks!!!

I just found out that the wheels I have are not repairable that's why I'm trying to get new ones.

Thanks
