On going issue code P2009
Hi everyone, so I have an IS 250 2009 and been having an a particular issue for a while. I went to a few mechanics and even worked on my problem myself and still no luck. I had MAF code and system too rich bank 1 and bank 2 code, making my car idle crazy, RPM dipping up and down as I am accelerating. Anyways, I had replace and cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body, replaced spark plugs and still the codes were showing up. Finally I was able to solve it by replacing the upper and lower intake manifold. Now a new code P2009, which says : Intake manifold runner control control circuit low bank 1. I saw a thread somewhere saying to tighten up the nut in the actuator with a drop of lock tight. However, code still persist and missing power now while trying to reach higher RPMs. Any help would be much appreciated it !

If you replaced the manifolds, I'm assuming you also checked the motor nut before installing again. The only other thing is a bad connection on the harness. Do the pins on the connectors look corroded?

Yes, made sure the motor was not damaged and moving with the lever. Also haven't noticed any corrosion, I should maybe open it back up to make sure. How do I test a bad connection on the harness ? Thanks

This is the old one, yes they were open. So you're saying that the sensor harness might be at a wrong position ?

It's rare these sensors go bad other than the loose nut on the motor. Worse care use your original lower intake. What was the cause there? Leaking linkage system?

What I'm referring to is check this adapter cable to the sensor. Since it's a possibility when upper manfold was removed it could have been damaged. Pulled wire of some sort. Also check for continuity from pin to pin.
Then check the one side from the main ECU harness that connects to this sensor.

So I installed the original lower manifold with the new actuator motor and I made sure the butterflies were opening and closing properly with the lever. Everything seemed fine when reinstalling, haven't seen any damages. I deleted the code and drove for like an hour. To my suprise CEL came back up and code P2009 was gone but new code P0505 idle control valve popped up. Is this related to the same problem ? I'm running out of ideas at this point.

Check all your conections. Make sure you hear the "click" when putting back the connectors. Also check for bad vacuum hose connections.

The time I see this code pop up is when alternator is starting to fail. You could have multiple issues. It seem the runner's are fixed at the moment.
The TB don't fail much either. Do you have a live date scan tool? What is the MAF reading g/s at idle?
