This is my grandsons car. He is a United States Marine on deployment. I would appreciate any suggestions to getting it started. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Is there gas in it? 5 months is not long enough for gas to go bad and cause a crank no start. Was the car driven regularly before being parked?

Yes it has gas and the car was driven regularly prior to this. It would sometimes idle rough until it warmed up.
Today I put a new battery in it and got it to start but it was running very rough and I had to keep the rpm's up to keep it from dying. It eventually stalled and then I couldn't get it to restart.

Is the check engine light on?

How many miles on it?

It could have flooded. Try holding the throttle to the floor next go round. If it fires, keep it at 2K and drive until fully warm and open it up.
