i'm interested in buying a manual transmission is250 or is350. i was interested in the manual transmission sc300s when they were newer. now the only ones i see for sale are cream puffs that're out of my price rang. the couple of 6-spd. is250s i've seen for sale looked like a high school kid had delivered pizzas in them. how rare are these manual transmission is's? and thanks!

 

Looks like they made just under 3,500 MT sedans and 90 MT convertibles. If you are dead set on this purchase, I'd take the best car you can find and afford and try not to be too picky.

 

There are always good, low-KM cars out there. The better question is, why IS250 manual (cos no IS350 in manual) over G35 or G37 manual? Or Honda Accord V6 coupe? Or 350z/370z?

Read the listings every single day, call the sellers and reach out across the country.

I would have bought a Civic SI or Accord V6 or whatever good low-KM manual car appeared. Be patient and don't buy anything that doesn't meet your own standards for what a good used car is.

No no, 3,500 MT sedans. Only 90 MT coupes. I've never seen a MT 2nd gen IS in real life; then again I don't go looking inside every car I see, so I may have and not known.

2006 6MT

 

Got me an 06 IS 250 MT, she's about to crossover to 200k and she runs nice. People hate the transmission in this car but if you get used to it and drive it like the luxury sedan it is then it is perfectly fine. Comfortable and easy to drive comfortably, just takes a little more skill and familiarity you can drive it quick. She sits on Megan Racing coils, so it also handles beautifully as well.

I own a 6MT sedan. I was looking for a is300 mt but forget it, had to settle for this when it popped up.. Glad i did, nice to drive, gets my manual thrills out with a slightly newer interior.
I've seen 2 convertible convertible 6mt online before, could not believe that was even possible. One was low mileage, i should have picked it up and just added to the fleet as I don't think I could part with my current.
