I'm still doing research on cars and my IS 350 has the rim size of 225 / 45R17 and 225 / 45R17 94w on the back.
a. Are these 17 x.7.5 rim size?
b. Also I read on the forum that the back is wider? Do the rims have to be wider or how does that work?
c. Can I buy 18 x 8.5 rim size (with 18 inch wheels) and just swap them (is it that easy?)

You can run 18x8.5 you could even run 18x9.5, however you'll want a square setup, meaning all the wheels have the same diameter/width (since your vehicle is AWD). You will also have to be aware of the offset of the wheel (I believe +35 offset wheels is the most you can do on our cars without have to do any fender rolling/pulling. Were you going for a specific fitment? (I.e. flush (where the wheels lines up really well with the body, tucked (for super lowered cars where the top of the wheel is tucked behind the fenders, aggressive (where the wheels pokes out OEM+).

hey thanks for the reply, I'm not planning on lowering my car and I'm looking to do this which is in the photo (I'm assuming this is flush) In the photo it looks like he has a staggered stance?
Oh ok, this is a subscriber here (@DownUnder) from New Zealand. He's got 4-5 Lexus 2is (including an IS-F). I'm almost 100% sure he is lowered (whether aftermarket lowering springs or coilovers, or even F-sport springs which are lower than stock base model springs, I'm not sure). But he is lowered. You could reach out to him on the specs.
I’m RWD IS350. I run 19x8.5” fronts +35 offset with a 225/35/19 tire. Rears are 19x9.5” +45 offset with a 275/30/19 tire. Lowered on F sport springs. If you’re AWD you’ll want to stick with square setup.. 8.5” wide all 4 corners would be my recommendation. Not sure why picture quality is crap but I think you can see.
