Default Manual Transmission Issue

My 2006 Lexus IS250 MT started making noise recently when it goes into high RPMs. Had a friend look at it and he sent me the video attached and took it to a mechanic who said that it would require a new transmission. Is this true? One of my other friends said that the retainer bearing went out and that it shouldn't require a new transmission.

If you keep driving the car like that you might need a new transmission. Your release bearing is shot and rattling around.

While you are replacing that, replace the clutch and pressure plate.

Is that video of the release fork and throw out bearing assembly?
