Default did i screw up my IS350c wheels n tires?

HI all,
i bought some new wheels off ebay but they were 17" and my car took 18" because the seller guaranteed they would fit.
My fault for believing him. Anyway, my 18" tires didnt fit the rims so i had to buy some 17" tires to go with the 17" rims. now when up to
75mph the car starts to vibrate and its really annoying. i took the car back to the dealer that i bought the tires from and they RE-balanced
the tires and it was a little help. car now vibrates a little less. its too annoying to drive on trips. is this just a balancing issue
or is it the fact that i put 17" rims on my car when OEM is 18"? if these 17" wheels wont fit i guess i will have to go back to my stock
wheels but dont want to. should i go back and ask them to again REbalance or just put the oem 18s back on? thx all.

Sounds like you might have bent rims. Did you buy them brand new or used? Downsizing rims shouldn’t cause any drivability issues unless they’re bent or not balanced properly.

bought them brand new. i gave the seller my VIN and asked do these fit my car and he said yes. but 18"
was oem size. my error for trusting them. this is the link below of the ones i bought. i got a 2012 is350c.
i guess thats my real ques... is the vibration coming from the quality of the balancing the tire store did
or from being a diff size. i dont know how many times i can go back to them and ask them to REbalance...

If your car vibrates less after the first balance, then they’re likely still out of balance. I’d either take it back to the place that balanced your wheels and have them rebalance them or go to a different tire shop to get them balanced out and have them checked for any bends, just to be on the safe side. Jumping one size rim down shouldn’t affect anything at all, drivability wise.

The description clearly states 17x8 on your eBay link. Did the seller then update the listing?

Since the wheels are 17's, and you have a 350? Look at the wheels weights did they get knocked by the caliper? Go back to the installer, and see if they can put the wheel weights away from the caliper.

The OEM 17's should clear the caliper, but aftermarket will have a step up if that makes sense.

I've seen rims that are way out of spec and required a lot of weights to get near balanced. Look at the rims how many weights do you see stuck to each one?

OP also have a shop verify the wheel hub ID to ensure it seats and centers the wheels properly. OEM spec is 60.1mm.

You might need to have hub centers installed if the wheels do not match the cars hubs which can easily be the case with aftermarket wheels. Please list the specifications for the wheels.

Who made them?

There are a few things that may have happened but going to 17” if you’re using the correct tires and the wheels clear the brakes should not cause vibrations if done correctly. We need to see what kind of lugnuts were used to install the wheels. Also, if the shop only balanced the wheels “static” like a lot of smaller shops do you might never get rid of the vibrations. If they only placed weights on the inside of the rim closer to the backside lip and nothing on the inside closer to the outter lip they need to be balanced again.
